A Collaborative Service from Start to Finish
Let us tell you a little more about the process behind creating a bespoke rug…
It all begins with a piece of inspiration, whether this is one of our in-house designs, a mood board, a photograph or simply an idea. We will develop this into a selection of designs to fit beautifully within your scheme.
We will work with you to determine the perfect colours and select from an array of premium fibres. We help choose the shape and measure up for size.
Following artwork approval, the sampling process begins. Sampling takes around four to six weeks if required, usually these are around 40cm2 and are made using the same chosen technique as your final rug.
Once the samples are presented and signed off, production of your rug can begin…
A bespoke rug is the result of many different steps. Washing, spinning and dying the yarn is just the start of the process.
Our expert artisans set up a new loom for each hand woven or knotted piece. For hand tufted rugs, the chosen design is stencilled onto cotton fabric which is then stretched onto a frame.
Craftsmanship is at the heart of our process. Our passionate artisans work on the same rug from the start to the very end, crafting your story into a one-off piece of art.
Like all the steps, the final touches are carried out entirely by hand. From trimming or shearing to bounding or hand stitching, we ensure the highest quality finish. It will then be carefully washed and draped outside to dry in the sunshine.
The rug will go through quality checks before being packed with the upmost care and delivered to its forever home. For those who are local to us, we offer a zero emission delivery and installation service.
Our process takes some time, but what you are left with is something incredibly special that will last a lifetime.
