The Best Day Spas in London
Where to Book for April 12th
Over the past twelve months, I have come to realise how truly wonderful it is to do something special for yourself every now and again. Now, for me, it has to be self-care, and although, yes…I’ve tried my hardest with box dyes and botched mani-pedis…bring on April 12th.
Linnaean
Situated in Embassy Gardens, and split across two floors, is the impressive Linnaean designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. With one of the largest treatment menus in London, featuring a hair salon, multiple mani-pedi stations, private treatment rooms and a wellness café, Linnaean is a mecca of beauty. The interior, a gorgeous floral scheme of muted greens and pinks, was carefully designed over the spans of a year with a strong focus on sustainability. Keep an eye out for the bespoke coral runner by Holmes Bespoke connecting each of the beauty treatment rooms.
South Kensington Club
The South Kensington Club, located in the heart of London, is a unique, multi-faceted private members club and spa, currently open to guests. Designed by HKS Architects, the Club features a Turkish and Moroccan hammam spa, watsu pool and traditional Russian banya. The integrity of the building has been preserved; a heritage-listed Georgian-era Music Hall (and Francis Bacon’s first studio), and the interiors re-imagined into the most gorgeous state-of-the-art wellness house in central London.
Agua at Sea Containers
Designed by Tom Dixon, Agua is a luxuriously, intimate bathhouse and spa located beneath Sea Containers Hotel at Southbank (formally the Mondrian). The art-deco curves and bold Hollywood glamour of agua are what truly sets it apart from other spas in London. Bright, heaven-like interiors are as unexpected as its quirky, yet fabulously bold, central statement art. If you’re into natural wellness, aromatherapy and lymphatic massage Agua will have you back again and again.
The Ned
Located in London’s financial district, The Ned, a not-so-secret 1930s gem, has to be one of the most unique hotel spas in the city. Set in the former Midland Bank building in the City of London, with a vault now converted into a hotel bar, the glamorous interiors of The Ned were redesigned by EPR Architects. The highlight of it all is the Victorian-inspired marble-clad lap pool which was originally a former bullion room. The spa features the familiar Cowshed treatment menu, so we already know the pedicures are perfection.
Gleneagles
I know, I know, Gleneagles is not in our wonderful city, but we aren’t all locked down in London right now and travel may be on the cards again soon. Located beneath the Ochil Hills in the heart of Scotland, Gleneagles is a luxurious five-star hotel due to open their newly redesigned wellness spa in the coming weeks. Designed by Ennismore and Goddard Littlefair, muted colours and textures bring the glorious Perthshire surroundings in and lush Holmes Bespoke rugs feature throughout.
