At Holmes Bespoke we are incredibly proud to work with some of the top players within the hospitality industry. We have designed and carpeted some of the world’s most prestigious hotels including The Hoxton Hotel, Hotel BOAT&CO Amsterdam, and the 5 star Hotel Schloss Mönchstein in Austria.
When approaching this sector, there are various elements to consider; practicality is highly important and often budget is the first thing to be discussed. We might be required to design both large quantities for bedrooms or corridors as well as something special and unique for the public areas. Think of a hotel, the ambiance for the guest is paramount and the look and feel may vary considerably depending on which space within the building we are designing for. The bar and restaurant will invite a very different vibe to that of the bedrooms or the spa but all areas need to be appealing to a wide demographic.
Designing a flawless and inviting look is crucial and this should be captured from the moment the guest walks through the door. Whilst lighting and soft
furnishings are all key elements, the flooring on which everything sits often brings the space together and becomes the central focus.
When we embark on the design process for a public space, as well as style and comfort we always account for numerous practical elements too. Fire regulations, trip hazards and cleaning are all important factors at the forefront of any commercial project. We are happy to carry out testing and provide certification for bespoke pieces so that they are approved and meet regulations. We supply anti-slip underlay to avoid rugs moving or becoming a hazard on timber flooring and have cleaning guides available for all of our products. We have the experience to offer advice on the pile height and most hardwearing and practical fibres available and can organise stain protection to help preserve the look and feel for as long as possible.
There are excellent advantages of using carpets and rugs within a public space, not only do they add warmth and soften communal areas to give a homely luxurious feel but they can also define areas within a large open space, and come in very handy for reducing noise by absorbing sound.
